Baby girl looks 8 months pregnant – when shocking cause is revealed, dad steps in and I can’t hold back my tears 💔 Full story in comments:
Karen Rodas and Paul Rybkin from New Jersey lost their first child, Nathaniel, to Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) just 36 hours after birth. When their daughter Maddy was born in 2013 with the same condition, they faced a familiar and terrifying battle.
Maddy endured numerous hospital visits and treatments during her first 18 months of life. As her health declined, she became lethargic, vomited frequently, and her stomach became severely swollen. Doctors warned that without a kidney transplant, she might not survive.
Her father, Paul, was identified as a compatible donor and gave his kidney to save her life. The transplant was a success. Maddy, once too sick to play, became a healthy and energetic toddler.
“Daddy’s kidney has saved our little girl,” said her mother Karen. Paul, ever humble, said he simply did what any parent would.
Maddy will eventually need another transplant, but her parents are grateful for the second chance. As of 2023, Maddy continues to thrive, and her family shares updates on her progress to inspire and bring hope to others.
Please share to wish Maddy continued health and happiness.
