They’re issuing a warning 😳😳😳

Mesotherapy, a cosmetic procedure dating back to 1952, is gaining viral popularity on social media as a non-surgical solution to erase wrinkles, reduce fat, and eliminate under-eye bags. The treatment involves injecting a mix of vitamins, hormones, enzymes, and plant extracts just below the skin.

However, experts warn the procedure is highly unregulated and lacks standardization. Each practitioner uses a different “recipe,” and there is no FDA approval for these injections. Patients may unknowingly receive unknown or even prescription substances.

Social media influencers promote mesotherapy as a quick and affordable alternative to Botox or fillers, and DIY kits are sold online, making it easy for untrained individuals to perform injections at home.

Medical professionals caution that this can lead to severe complications: swelling, blister-like bumps (“reptile skin”), allergic reactions, infections, skin tissue death, permanent scarring, and even blindness—especially when injections are near the eyes.

Mesotherapy remains legal but loosely regulated in many countries, leaving consumers vulnerable to misleading marketing and unsafe practices.

Experts urge caution, emphasizing that quick beauty fixes aren’t always safe and that health should never be sacrificed for appearance.
