She is potentially facing a huge prison sentence πŸ˜³πŸ‘‡

18-year-old British student Bella Culley, who went missing in Thailand while backpacking, was later foundβ€”but not in Thailand. Instead, she was arrested in Georgia (the country in Eastern Europe), accused of illegally buying, possessing, and importing large amounts of narcotics, including marijuana and hashish.

Bella’s family lost contact after she arrived in Thailand on May 3rd, but she resurfaced in Georgia, about 4,000 miles away. It’s unclear how she traveled there. She was charged after drugs were found in her luggage at Tbilisi International Airport.

Bella’s legal representative described her as very tense and worried, and she chose not to speak during her hearing. She has been placed in a pre-trial detention center in Rustavi, near Tbilisi.

British officials are supporting her family and in contact with Georgian authorities. If convicted, Bella could face up to 20 years in prison.
