She refused to drop her weapon 👇🏻
A hit-and-run on the 134 Freeway in Los Angeles on April 8 turned into a manhunt when three suspects fled into the Eagle Rock neighborhood. During the search, police encountered 51-year-old Jillian Shriner — author and wife of Weezer bassist Scott Shriner — who was reportedly armed with a handgun.
Although unrelated to the crash, Jillian allegedly refused to drop the weapon and pointed it at officers, prompting them to shoot her in the shoulder. She later surrendered with the family babysitter and was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. A 9mm handgun was recovered at the scene, and she was briefly booked for attempted murder before being released.
Meanwhile, one suspect was arrested wearing only underwear after hiding in a pool; two others remain at large. One woman from the crash was hospitalized with moderate injuries. No officers were hurt.
Jillian is known for her bestselling memoirs, while her husband Scott has been Weezer’s bassist since the early 2000s.
