HAt 26, Logan Gifford has endured unimaginable trauma, surviving years of sexual abuse by his mother, Doreene Gifford. Between ages 10 and 16, he suffered abuse that eventually led him to alert the police. His mother was convicted in 2015 and sentenced to 8–20 years in prison.

The boy, who has cognitive disabilities, lives with Logan under temporary guardianship while a paternity test is awaited. This test could change the case from guardianship to custody.
