Female Rapper Sues Lyft After Driver Refused To Pick Her Up For This Reason

A Michigan rapper is suing Lyft after a driver allegedly refused to pick her up, claiming she was too heavy for his car. Dajua Blanding, known as Dank Demoss, filmed the encounter where the driver said she wouldn’t fit in his Mercedes-Benz and later canceled the ride.

Blanding, who has spoken openly about her weight, called the experience humiliating and discriminatory. She filed a lawsuit arguing the driver’s refusal violated Michigan laws protecting against weight-based discrimination.

While some online supported the driver, others backed Blanding’s stance. Lyft responded by condemning discrimination and affirming their commitment to equal treatment for all riders. The case has since sparked debate over passenger rights and driver discretion in the rideshare industry.
