Tia Zakher, a 22-year-old TikTok creator, has gone viral for her extreme skincare method: not washing her face at all. In a recent video call, Zakher said she’s doing well and, as of five days ago, has started rinsing with just water.

Her “do nothing” approach—known as the “caveman” routine—emerged after years of trying everything from chemical peels to microneedling to treat her acne. She stopped all skin treatments on March 14, including touching or washing her face.

By April, followers noticed visible changes in her skin and raised questions. Zakher then posted a video explaining her decision, which has since received over 10 million views. Though she didn’t invent the “caveman” term, she said she discovered it while researching others with similar experiences.

The viral reaction reflects the intense scrutiny influencers often face when making personal health choices public.
