After Matthew Perry’s death, questions have surfaced about who will get his enormous fortune, as the actor had no wife or kids. A lawyer sheds light on the people who will “most likely” receive his millions of dollars. Their names are in the comments below.
Following Matthew Perry’s death in October 2023 at age 54, questions have arisen about who will inherit his estimated fortune. The Friends star, who never married or had children, once declared that his father would never see “a dime” of his money.
Entertainment lawyer Tre Lovell explained that Perry earned $20 million annually in Friends residuals, which continue even after death. If Perry didn’t leave a will or trust, the estate may go to his parents equally. However, Lovell believes Perry likely arranged for some of his wealth to support addiction recovery causes—something he was deeply passionate about.
Perry spent around $9 million battling addiction and later helped others by opening a sober living facility. He hoped to be remembered more for his recovery work than his role on Friends.
