Amber Luke, a woman from Australia, has spent over $120,000 transforming herself into the “dragon girl,” a journey she says saved her life. Once a naturally blonde, slender beauty, Amber struggled with depression and suicidal thoughts throughout her youth. Feeling disconnected from her body, she turned to tattoos and surgery to express her true self.

Her transformation includes 600 tattoos, pointed ears, a split tongue, breast and butt enhancements, and even injecting blue ink into her eyes—a procedure that left her temporarily blind for three weeks.

Despite the pain and risks, Amber says the changes helped her overcome self-hatred and finally feel confident. Though she now says she’s done with facial tattoos and eye ink, she embraces her current look and doesn’t regret the choices that brought her peace and pride.
