Seven-year-old Landen was selling lemonade and cookies near his home when Officer J. Perez of the Ansonia Police Department stopped by to chat. Landen shared his goal of earning enough money to buy blue sneakers for school.

After their friendly conversation, Officer Perez left but returned shortly with a surprise—a brand-new pair of blue sneakers for Landen.

The young boy was overjoyed, with his grandmother, Wendelyn Narvaez, expressing gratitude: “He made my baby’s day and made him feel like a king.”

A photo of Landen proudly wearing his new sneakers quickly went viral, highlighting Officer Perez’s simple but meaningful act of kindness. Police Chief Wayne Williams praised the officer, calling him an example of the kind of officer every community needs.
