A Texas woman was shocked when the chicken she was preparing turned into stringy, spaghetti-like strands. Posting a photo of the raw chicken on Facebook, Alesia Cooper of Irving shared her experience, saying, “I think it’s that fake meat.” She purchased the chicken from Aldi but hasn’t cooked off-the-bone chicken since.

Her post sparked online debate, with some claiming the chicken was lab-grown or genetically modified. Others suggested it resulted from chickens being force-fed growth hormones to grow faster.

Experts confirm such abnormalities, like “spaghetti meat” and “woody breast,” occur in fast-growing birds raised for larger breast meat. While unusual in texture, these conditions are safe to eat, according to industry specialists.
