Boy Left Orphaned After Both Parents Die In Two Freak Accidents Hours Apart
A tragic double accident in Baton Rouge claimed the lives of Alexus Lee, 25, and her fiancé, John “JR” Collins, 35, within two hours on the same stretch of highway. Lee crashed her SUV at 2 a.m., and Collins, rushing to her scene, lost control of his Camaro at 4 a.m. Both were not wearing seatbelts and died at the scene.
The couple had just bought a home and were planning a wedding for 2026. Their 4-year-old son, Gabriel, is now orphaned and living with extended family, who are working to preserve his parents’ memory.
Alexus, a passionate teacher, and JR, a truck driver and devoted father, were deeply in love. Their sudden deaths have devastated their families and the local community. A joint memorial is planned, and a support fund has been started for Gabriel’s future. Their story is now one of heartbreak, resilience, and enduring love.
