While Paul’s condition has shown some improvement, Gail is still on life support 💔 Now they need all prayers and support we can give 👇🏻
Paul and Gail Cline, a couple in their 60s from Laurel County, Kentucky, are fighting for their lives after a deadly tornado destroyed their home on May 17, 2025. As the storm hit, they were holding each other — a moment that cost them both an arm.
According to family, the tornado ripped off their opposite arms due to the force while they clung together. A neighbor heard their screams and rescued them from the rubble. Gail remains on life support with severe injuries, while Paul, who has dementia, is still in shock.
Their home, a cherished family place for generations, was completely destroyed. Amazingly, their dog Sadie was found lying in the ruins of their bedroom, waiting for them.
The family has launched a GoFundMe to help with medical and housing costs. Despite the devastation, their nieces say Paul and Gail’s love and strength remain unshaken.
> “They held on through the storm — and they’ll keep holding on.”
At least 19 people died in the Kentucky storms. Governor Andy Beshear urged continued prayers for all those affected.
