Armed Carjacker DlES While Fleeing PoIice, Mom Demands Answers: ‘He Was Not A CriminaI’

Dion Lamar Taylor, 20, was fatally struck by a Baltimore County police car while fleeing a carjacked vehicle. Police say Taylor and two others had stolen a pizza delivery car, prompting a chase. When the suspects jumped from the moving vehicle, a police cruiser hit Taylor as he ran.

Taylor’s mother, Teisha Cook, expressed heartbreak over losing her son just a block from home. Police say the collision appeared unintentional, and the officer involved was placed on administrative leave.

One suspect, 16-year-old Taron Kelly, was arrested and charged as an adult. A third suspect remains at large. The incident is under investigation.
