A security guard at The Liberty Hotel in Boston has been **suspended** after wrongly accusing a woman, Ansley Baker, of being a man and ordering her to leave the **women’s bathroom** during a Kentucky Derby party. Baker and her girlfriend, Liz Victor—both biological women—said the guard demanded proof of gender and escorted Baker out despite her protests.

The hotel initially claimed guests reported “two adults sharing a stall” and that one touched a guard—claims the couple denies. After public backlash, the hotel issued a statement promising **staff retraining**, outreach from the general manager, and a donation to an LGBTQ+ group.

Baker and Victor say they spoke out to help prevent similar incidents and have contacted Boston Mayor Michelle Wu’s office. They are still waiting for a formal **apology** and correction from the hotel.
