Isabel Coles of Southern Pines, NC, shared her heartbreak after her husband Christopher, a military serviceman, took his life just one day after their honeymoon at a beach-front music festival in New Jersey.

The couple had married in September after meeting through a dating app. Back home, Christopher was preparing guest lists for a larger ceremony planned for May. But the next morning, he left with his handgun and was later found dead in the woods by his father.

Isabel said there were no warning signs and described their honeymoon as joyful. Months later, she received flowers Christopher had arranged for Valentine’s Day, believing he’d be deployed.

Despite public support, she’s also faced blame online. “We were happy. No one can take that from me,” Isabel said, adding, “He was fighting demons no one knew about.”
