This Movie Star Was Unwanted By His Family And Lived In A Boarding House At 4-Years-Old
At 78, Hollywood icon Sylvester Stallone recently shared emotional memories of his tough upbringing during a heartfelt interview on the *Unwaxed Podcast*, hosted by his daughters, Sophia and Sistine.
Stallone revealed that one of *Rocky II*’s most powerful scenes—where Rocky explodes at his trainer, Mickey—was inspired by his real-life unresolved anger toward his father.
> “I was terrified of him,” Stallone admitted. “Writing that screenplay was my way of saying things I never could as a kid. It felt like therapy.”
Stallone described his early years as chaotic, spending over four years in a boarding house after being abandoned by unfit parents. His mother made cruel remarks that haunted him for years, leading young Stallone to retreat into comic books and fantasy heroes for strength.
> “I would even make superhero costumes and wear them under my clothes to school,” he recalled.
Despite the trauma, Stallone channeled his pain into creativity, crafting the beloved *Rocky* franchise—where themes of resilience and heart shine through.
Today, Stallone is still going strong, set to star in the upcoming action-thriller *Armoured* alongside Jason Patric.
Through raw honesty and timeless performances, Stallone continues to inspire millions—both on and off screen.
