The tragic murder of 10-year-old Sara Sharif shocked the world, with her father, Urfan Sharif, confessing to brutally killing her after a two-year “campaign of torture.” Sara’s body, found in their Woking home, was covered in over 70 injuries, including burns and fractures. A note from Urfan confirmed his guilt and revealed that he fled to Pakistan with family members before Sara’s body was discovered.

After a manhunt, Urfan, his brother Faisal Malik, and stepmother Beinash Batool were charged. In court, Urfan admitted his role in her death. He was sentenced to life with a minimum of 40 years, while Batool received 33 years. Malik was sentenced to 16 years for allowing the death.

Sara’s mother, Olga Domin, called the defendants “sadists” and expressed that Sara is now free from violence. Inside prison, Urfan’s notoriety as a child murderer led to his brutal attack by two inmates who used a tuna can lid as a weapon. Despite the attack, Urfan survived, though with permanent scars.
