Now in their 20s, Malia and Sasha Obama have grown into independent, close-knit young women. During the pandemic, they returned home, strengthening family bonds. After college, they became roommates in Los Angeles — a move Michelle called every parent’s dream.

Malia, born in 1998, graduated from Harvard in 2021 and pursued film, co-writing for Swarm and directing The Heart, which won an award in 2024. Known for her creative mind, she often draws comparisons to Barack.

Sasha, born in 2001, transferred from the University of Michigan to USC, earning a sociology degree in 2023. Full of energy and charm, she’s often called a “mini Michelle.”
