Shoppers at TJ Maxx, Marshalls, or HomeGoods may soon notice employees wearing body cameras. This safety measure, implemented by TJX Companies, aims to deter crime, de-escalate incidents, and enhance store safety.

โ€œBody cameras are one of many ways we support a safe store environment,โ€ a TJX spokesperson explained, noting only trained staff will use them.

Retail expert Carol Spieckerman highlighted the challenge of managing TJXโ€™s โ€œtreasure-huntโ€ inventory model, which encourages frequent visits but complicates tracking.

TJX clarified that footage will only be shared with law enforcement or via subpoena, though activation timelines remain unspecified.
